About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) unit in an acute care hospital setting. The LPN will provide direct patient care, support Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians, and manage patients with a wide range of medical conditions, post-surgical needs, and chronic illnesses. This role requires strong clinical skills, patient assessment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care/inpatient environment.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it current.
- IV certification within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and supporting treatment plans in a Med/Surg unit
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
- Perform basic patient assessments, observe changes in condition, and report findings to the RN/physician
- Assist with wound care, post-operative care, and management of chronic and acute conditions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in our EPIC EMR/EHR systems
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and disease management
