Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting.
  • At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the RN by checking resident health status and ensuring accurate and confidential documentation
  • Administer medications and treatments, verify pharmacy orders, and maintain accurate records
  • Observe residents for changes or concerns and report findings while documenting daily care activities
  • Work with the RN to help plan and adjust resident care and participate in nursing committees when needed
  • Ensure residents are clean, safe, and well groomed while supporting infection control practices
  • Provide focused care for residents in specialty units such as Alzheimer care
