About The Position
This is a non-merit, temporary position for a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Iowa Veterans Home. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. This role offers flexible scheduling options, allowing you to work as few as two shifts per month in areas with identified needs, or commit to every third weekend with a choice of evening or night shifts. There is an annual hour limit of 780 hours per fiscal year, equating to an average of 30 hours per pay period. Mandatory orientation of at least 80 hours is required within the first 6 weeks of hire. Beyond orientation, you can pick up additional hours at your convenience, not exceeding the annual cap. All applicants are subject to a Criminal Background Check, Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Check. The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility and complies with federal Right to Work laws.
