This position may provide direct nursing care to residents and supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical/vocational nurses and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, and established facility policies and procedures. The role involves promoting holistic care for residents, ensuring compliance with policies, participating in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers, assessing changes in resident status, and transcribing physician orders. The nurse will administer medications, perform wound treatments, schedule follow-up appointments, and provide direct care skills such as colostomy changes, tube feedings, wound care, suctioning, and IV administration. Additionally, the position involves rounds to ensure resident needs are met, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, participation in management meetings, and potentially assisting in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. The role also includes reporting incidents, participating in end-of-life care, ensuring adequate supplies, updating care plans, promoting teamwork, and participating in survey processes and QAPI activities. Infection control principles must be followed, and deficiencies corrected.
