About The Position

Under the supervision of the Provider(s) in the clinic, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists with patient care services as delegated or assigned and functions within the scope of practice according to the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. The LPN collaborates with clinical staff, patients, and their families.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited LPN program or completion of requirements for licensure.
Current Mississippi license or temporary permit for the same.
Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care services.
Implement and document delegated nursing interventions in accordance with each patient's nursing care plan.
Measure and document vital signs, lab tests, and procedures, and report results to the Provider as needed.
Maintain efficient patient flow, including preparing exam rooms and the triage area after each use.
Administer medications and observe, report, and document their effectiveness.
Schedule and compile patient records and document clinical and health information in the electronic health record.
Participate in patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
Communicate patient and family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
Provide accurate, concise daily reporting and documentation of the patient's condition and needs.
Share patient and family input with the appropriate health care provider.
Actively participate in implementing patient care plans.
Monitor patients to ensure their comfort, privacy, and safety.
Assist with ordering and labeling specimens, scheduling, dressing, and consenting patients.
