About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses to work in the medical department at the Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster, Maryland. The LPN provides comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of an RN and ensures relevant information is shared with appropriate personnel. The position involves maintaining and updating secure electronic medical records and providing care to inmates/patients. A two-week orientation period includes on-the-job training and shadowing nursing staff. Available schedules include a full-time night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, rotating every other weekend, or full-time/part-time evening or night shifts from either 6 PM to 2 AM or 7 PM to 3 AM. Compensation is $33.00–$35.00 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and increased pay rates.

Requirements

Be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Maryland.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to function under supervision.
Demonstrate clinical competency.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care under the supervision of an RN.
Ensure relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel.
Maintain, update, and secure electronic medical records.
Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
Conduct sick calls for inmates/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
Observe, report, and document inmates’/patients’ symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Participate in formulating plans of care.
Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
