The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles, practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards. The LPN will perform testing to evaluate resident status, recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to emergent situations. Key responsibilities include ensuring resident health, comfort, and safety, contributing to resident assessments, administering medications and treatments, providing technical support, and documenting resident interactions and outcomes. The role also involves counseling residents and families on prevention and treatment plans, developing self-care programs, and performing other related duties as assigned. The position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, communicate clearly, and maintain confidentiality.
