Requirements
- Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current state license in good standing for the state in which work is performed
- Valid, current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor as described in 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care with compassion, precision, and professionalism.
- Administer medications and treatments using the 5 rights of administration.
- Monitor, document, and communicate changes in condition to the RN and broader care team.
- Support individualized care plans and contribute to ongoing assessments.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to Nursing Technicians and support staff.
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment where each child feels seen, supported, and empowered.
- Deliver nursing care based on each resident’s individualized care plan and evolving clinical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders.
- Monitor residents closely, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate clinical team members.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, and other disciplines to coordinate care and support treatment decisions.
- Contribute to admission evaluations, ongoing assessments, care planning, and resident and family education.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, including nursing notes, medication and treatment records, and care-plan updates.
- Provide clear, thorough change-of-shift reports to support continuity and safety across the nursing team.
- Practice within the LPN scope, seeking RN guidance or immediate clinical support when a resident’s needs or condition require escalation.
- Participate in orientation, continuing education, quality-improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of Nurse Technicians.
