In an inpatient setting, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) remains accountable for the provision of direct care to assigned patients. The LPN contributes to unit activities and supports the enhancement of the care delivery system. They work as a team member and assist other staff members with implementing patient care. The LPN assumes responsibility of care for assigned patients under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD. They participate in the plan of care, implement appropriate nursing interventions, and contribute to patient/family education through data collection, interdisciplinary team collaboration, documentation, and excellent communication. This is a full-time position available with day/evening/night shifts, 8- and 12-hour shifts, requiring every other weekend and holiday work. In conjunction with the RN team, the LPN provides direct patient care to low-moderate risk, post-partum women and their newborns. A commitment to customer-focused, family-centered care with a strong emphasis on patient/family teaching is expected. The role requires good interpersonal skills, strong prioritization and organizational skills, flexibility, and clinical competence.
