About The Position

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider. Responsibilities include performing clinical procedures, documenting patient information, administering medications, and supporting the care team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered services in a clinical office setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current, active LPN license in the state of practice, in good standing.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, clinical procedures, and standard medical office workflows
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration practices within LPN scope of practice.
  • Skill in performing clinical procedures including phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and basic wound care.
  • Skill in accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
  • Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication with patients, families, and clinical team members.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and escalate concerns to supervising staff appropriately.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity with all patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in an ambulatory or medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients, obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and medical histories in the EMR.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed.
  • Administer medications, injections, and immunizations per provider orders and scope of practice.
  • Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, EKGs, wound care, catheterizations, and point-of-care testing.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use.
  • Document patient interactions, care provided, and clinical notes accurately and timely in the EMR.
  • Triage incoming patient calls and messages; communicate clinical concerns to providers appropriately.
  • Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and care plans to patients as directed by providers.
  • Assist with in-office procedures including preparation of supplies and patient education.
  • Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests per provider instruction.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards at all times.
  • Support front office staff with patient flow and coordination as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in all interactions and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
