The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles, practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise, and utilizing age and population-specific standards. The LPN will evaluate resident status, provide necessary care, recognize and respond to problems, and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Responsibilities include contributing to resident assessments, administering medications and treatments, providing technical support, documenting resident interactions and outcomes, and counseling residents and families under the direction of a supervisor. The position also requires effective collaboration within an interdisciplinary team and clear communication while maintaining confidentiality.
