About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position is at the Good Samaritan Society - Specialty Care Community, a 96-bed facility that provides rehabilitation therapy in both young adult and geriatric communities. The facility has 3 floors, separated into 2 self-contained wings each that house 16 residents, all with private rooms. The facility is centrally located on a main bus route in downtown Robbinsdale.

Requirements

Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment.
Ability to use computer.
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
Prior cleaning experience is helpful.
Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
Emptying waste baskets.
Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Cleaning patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
Wearing the proper protective equipment following the appropriate guidelines.
Keeping storage, equipment and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
Using pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
Assisting in the laundry areas as appropriate.
Using technology applications depending on location and availability of programs.
