This full-time position is located at Family Medicine Associates in St. Joseph, MO. The Licensed Practical Nurse will work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services (NHS) providers, supervisors, and personnel to carry out the goals and objectives of NHS. The role involves treating all individuals with respect, preparing patients for examinations, administering medications and treatments, assisting patients with mobility, providing patient education, preparing and restocking exam rooms, triaging patient calls, administering injections, preparing patient record information for referrals, drawing labs, preparing lab specimens for shipment, assisting physicians with procedures, answering patient and hospital phone calls, reviewing charts for completeness, determining medical supply needs, maintaining tracking logs for labs, x-rays, and referrals, attending meetings and educational programs, documenting all assessments and treatments, and complying with regulatory agencies and HIPAA. Essential functions include possessing cognitive skills for understanding instructions and medical terminology, demonstrating tact and good communication, maintaining confidentiality, professional appearance, performing in high-demand situations, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
