About The Position

Saint Luke’s Health System is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Cardiology Wellness Center at the Plaza. In this LPN role, you will have the opportunity to work remote from your home 1 day per week in the KC Metro area as allowed by clinic need. Candidates must live in the KC Metro area. The Work: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for screening walk-in patients, telephone screening (with protocols), medication/injection education, assist with procedures, cleaning wounds, dressing changes. Able to work in a team atmosphere, as well as autonomously. Delegates tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel UAP in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice. May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties as needed. We are seeking an experienced LPN with cardiac knowledge who is willing to learn. This is a task-oriented position that requires strong customer service, communication, and multi-tasking skills. To be successful, you will need to have flexibility and be willing to help the team where help is needed. This is a team committed to helping each other within their scope of practice no matter what and sharing knowledge with each other to help the team grow and be successful every day.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Less than 1 year of applicable experience
  • Cardiac knowledge
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to help the team
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, as well as autonomously

Responsibilities

  • Answer calls from internal staff, pharmacies, external healthcare providers, and patients.
  • Review normal lab results with patients.
  • Process refill requests.
  • Address patient questions, complaints, and/or concerns.
  • FMLA paperwork and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist Medical Assistants when needed with EKGs, Rooming Patients, Monitor Patches and Rhythm Monitors.
  • Assist RNs within scope of practice with walk-in visits and other responsibilities.
  • Screening walk-in patients, telephone screening (with protocols), medication/injection education, assist with procedures, cleaning wounds, dressing changes.
  • Delegates tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel UAP in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.
  • May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties as needed.
