About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to provide care in an institutional setting. The successful candidate must perform the listed functions at a pace and level consistent with the job’s performance requirements. The role involves applying nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents and supporting medication, supply, and medical-record procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Hold a license in the state of employment.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
- Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment, and inventory them as required by established procedures.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medical records.
