About The Position
Amedisys is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse for a home health role in Durham County. The nurse helps patients heal at home by providing care, teaching patients and caregivers self-care techniques, and coordinating with the registered nurse and physician. The position offers pay of $27.74–$34.68 and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- One year of clinical LPN experience.
- Current LPN license specific to the state or states where assigned to work.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
Responsibilities
- Verify the plan of care with the RN before each visit.
- Collaborate frequently with the physician and RN to ensure patient needs are being met, and notify them as soon as possible when a patient's condition changes.
- Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
- Check vital signs.
- Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at each visit.
- Perform specialized procedures ordered by the physician, such as Foley catheter changes.
- Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
- Complete documentation accurately and on time.
