Clearpoint Health Network is Hiring for its brand new Facility in Burnaby.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited licensed practical nurse education program combined with 2 – 3 years recent experience in acute care day surgery/inpatient surgery environment.
  • Active/eligible for registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals.
  • Completion of a post-secondary educational institution perioperative nursing program.
  • Criminal record check dated within one month of hire.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment.
  • Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team.
  • Ability to wear lead apron protection for an extended period of time.
  • The ability to cope and effectively perform in stressful and/or emergent situations is essential.
  • Excellent assessment, organization, communication and team interaction skills.
  • Current immunization for hepatitis B, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria.
  • Current tuberculin skin testing (within 6 months before date of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Second circulator with a first circulator RN present in the OR.
  • Ability to stand scrubbed for many hours and to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Collaborates with all members of the health care team.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substances regulations.
  • Documents patient care appropriately in the medical record.
  • Participates cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Participates in educational programs as required.
  • Assists with the orientation and support for new staff to the facility.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
