LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Urogynecology
About The Position
Geisinger is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for its Urogynecology team at Geisinger Medical Center. In this outpatient clinic role, the nurse provides clinical support to providers, patients, and families to help support accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and continuity of care. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible LPN candidates. Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Graduate of a nursing specialty training program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care in assigned clinical areas.
- Communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous inpatient or medical-surgical nursing experience is strongly preferred.
- At least one year of nursing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect and document patient history, vital signs, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and skin testing under provider direction.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate with patients and providers to support timely care.
- Keep examination rooms clean, properly equipped, and in compliance with aseptic standards.
- Provide age-appropriate care in assigned clinical areas.
- Meet job-specific obligations and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
