LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Urogynecology
About The Position
Geisinger is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to support its Urogynecology team in an outpatient clinic setting at Geisinger Medical Center. The LPN provides clinical support to providers, patients, and families to help ensure accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and continuity of care. The role is suited to nurses who can contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and provide age-appropriate care. This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, working 10-hour day shifts Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible LPN candidates. The position requires graduation from a nursing specialty training program and an LPN license and Basic Life Support certification. At least one year of nursing experience is preferred, and inpatient or medical-surgical nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Graduate from a nursing specialty training program.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care in assigned clinical areas.
- Communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Previous inpatient or medical-surgical nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect and document patient history, vital signs, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with minor surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and skin testing under provider direction.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain ongoing communication with patients and providers to support timely care.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean, properly equipped, and meet aseptic standards.
- Provide age-appropriate care in assigned clinical areas.
- Comply with job-specific obligations and organizational policies and procedures.
