About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) contributes to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while working under the supervision of registered nurses. The LPN provides patient education and guidance within the scope of their education and demonstrated competencies. The role supports quality, compassionate care for patients in healthcare and housing units.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of employment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions under RN supervision, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
• Implement treatment programs directed by healthcare practitioners, administer medications, including IV therapy if certified, and perform diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift.
• Follow safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
• Assist with medical or minor surgical procedures and implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans.
• Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions and follow policies and procedures.
