About The Position
PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking dedicated, hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses to provide comprehensive nursing care in the medical department at Carroll County Detention Center in Westminster, Maryland. The LPN performs duties under the supervision of an RN and ensures relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel. The role includes maintaining and updating secure electronic medical records. A two-week orientation period includes on-the-job training and shadowing nursing staff. Available schedules include a full-time night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, rotating every other weekend, and full-time or part-time evening or night shifts from either 6 PM to 2 AM or 7 PM to 3 AM.
Requirements
- Be licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- Communicate effectively.
- Function under supervision.
- Demonstrate clinical competency.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care.
- Ensure relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain, update, and secure electronic medical records.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Conduct sick calls for inmates/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries according to written protocols approved by the PCM Medical Director.
- Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients.
- Participate in formulating plans of care.
- Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
