About The Position

This position provides medical/psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients at Oregon State Hospital, under the supervision of the RN. The role involves caring for patients who are elderly, have behavioral illness or histories, and are physically compromised. Additionally, the position contributes to maintaining a safe, secure environment and a therapeutic milieu.

Requirements

• Must have a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Must be able to frequently move up to 20 pounds, occasionally move up to 60 pounds vertically, and perform prolonged standing, bending, twisting, and squatting.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must pass an abuse check, criminal records check, and driving records check.
• Must confirm authorization to work in the United States and complete I-9 documentation within three days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining and providing medical/psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients.
• Provide nursing care and treatment to patients who are elderly, people with behavioral illness or histories, and physically compromised.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure environment.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a therapeutic milieu.
• Occasional driving or accompanying patients in vehicles may also be required.
