About The Position
Open Arms Care is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role helps individuals live healthier, safer, and more independent lives as part of a supportive team. The position works 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and requires working every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. Paid orientation lasts two weeks and takes place during first-shift hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Active Tennessee LPN license.
- Valid driver's license.
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire; training is available.
- PCM certification within 60 days of hire; training is available.
- Ability to lift and assist with mobility needs up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Monitor health conditions and vital signs, and complete documentation.
- Respond to medical concerns and emergencies.
- Support physician appointments and follow physician orders.
- Train and support staff on health-related needs.
- Participate in Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Assist with daily living needs when necessary.
- Help ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the individuals served.
