Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse - Private Duty
About The Position
Interim HealthCare is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for private-duty home health care for a pediatric patient in Jonesboro, Tennessee. This full-time position is a night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; the patient receives 50 hours of care weekly, and the schedule is described as very flexible, allowing the nurse to make their own schedule. The nurse provides home-based care and works under RN supervision as applicable, supporting the patient’s plan of care and collaborating with physicians, nurses, CNAs, aides, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Active RN or LPN license in Tennessee.
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
- Clinical proficiency in nursing, strong communication skills, and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Provide home-based care to patients with illnesses, injuries, and chronic diseases, often after hospital discharge, under RN supervision.
- Work with physicians, RNs, CNAs, and aides to deliver quality patient care.
- Take patient vitals, perform assessments, document progress, and report changes to the RN supervisor.
- Assist the RN in carrying out the patient’s plan of care and teach the patient self-care techniques.
- Educate the family about the patient’s plan of care, medication, and home safety.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and plan for discharge.
