About The Position

This position supports licensed healthcare team members in providing patient care, including direct patient care, offering healthcare information to patients/families, and following established care plans. The LPN works collaboratively with an RN or other licensed healthcare team member to evaluate patient care plans and progress. All patient care activities are performed under the delegation and supervision of a licensed professional, adhering to VUMC standards and licensure regulations. This role will cover Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, and Nashville locations.

Requirements

  • LIC-Licensed Practical Nurse - Tennessee
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Surgical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.
  • Partners with the healthcare team by following established plan of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.
  • Supports plans to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
  • Performs nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team.
  • Anticipates resource needs, identifies distinct tasks, sets priorities, schedules activities, meets deadlines, and organizes work.
  • Handles multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units.
  • Adapts to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity.

  • Demonstrates patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Collects, reports, and records objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner for nursing assessment.
