About The Position

The Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, including well-child exams, immunizations, patient education, and care coordination for Native American children and adolescents. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in any U.S. state
  • Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Experience with immunization administration and pediatric vital sign assessment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and families
  • Proficiency with electronic health records

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing or a pediatric outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the outpatient clinic
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up appointments
  • Administer immunizations and medications per provider orders
  • Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and developmental screenings
  • Perform point-of-care testing (glucose, urinalysis, rapid strep, etc.)
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialty services
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient visits
  • Support infection control protocols and clinic safety standards
