About The Position

Compassion Behavioral Health is seeking a reliable and compassionate full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join its overnight nursing team at its Detox/IIP/Residential Treatment Center. The role provides direct client care, monitors medical needs, administers medications, and collaborates with the clinical team to support high-quality care overnight. The facility provides individualized treatment for adults through evidence-based practices and a safe therapeutic environment.

The position works 12-hour night shifts on a rotating two-week schedule, with three scheduled shifts per week. Week 1 is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; Week 2 is Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The schedule includes rotating weekend coverage.

Requirements

• Hold a current Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Have experience in detox and mental health.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Be able to work overnight 12-hour shifts consistently and reliably.
• Have excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Be able to work independently and respond appropriately to medical needs during overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to clients in accordance with facility policies, DCF, and Joint Commission standards.
• Conduct nursing assessments, monitor vital signs, and document client progress during overnight shifts.
• Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medication records.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care as needed.
• Monitor client safety, medical stability, and overall well-being throughout the night.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and incoming nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate important medical updates and client concerns during shift changes.
• Maintain professional boundaries and a safe, therapeutic environment in the RTC setting.
