About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse OB/GYN works collaboratively with providers and support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the OB/GYN Department. All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Requirements

• Holds a current Connecticut Practical Nurse license
• Experienced and able to function effectively and professionally within an outpatient setting providing services to a special and diverse population groups.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• The manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers and other office equipment.
• The physical ability to kneel, bend and perform light lifting.
• Ability to write and speak clearly using the English language to convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to travel as required to work with staff.

Responsibilities

• Processes all patients according to the policies and guidelines established for Internal Medicine.
• Ensures continuity of care is maintained in all aspects of patient care.
• Responsible for data collection systems and to report statistical data necessary for grant purposes as needed.
• Supports all quality assurance activities and infection control procedures according to established policies.
• Assists in maintaining stock inventory and ordering supplies, as necessary.
• Attends department, case management and other meetings as assigned.
• Maintains strict confidentiality at all times.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
