About The Position

Susquehanna Obstetrics, Gynecology and Nurse Midwifery is seeking a full-time caring Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team! As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will be responsible for assisting physicians and providers with phone triage, scheduling appointments, review of results and records, follow through on physician orders and plan of care, nurse visits, tracking patients follow up care and plans, prior authorizations, antenatal testing, and obtaining medical results and educating patients on results and plan of care. The hours for this role would be a Monday-Friday position with the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and NO Weekends!

Requirements

Must have a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Maryland or a multi-state license.
Must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a public contact job, preferably service related.
Experience or interest in the healthcare field, with a focus on OB-GYN is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting with phone triage and scheduling appointments.
Assisting with prior authorizations.
Assisting with antenatal testing.
Reviewing schedule and ensuring that all required supplies are available and prepped.
Reviewing OBs seen to make sure labs are up to date and all orders are completed for the patient.
Escorting patients throughout the practice and obtaining samples and vitals from patients.
Recording all vitals on patient’s flowsheet in the electronic medical record system.
Interviewing patient in exam room and accurately documenting all concerns, complaints, and reason for visit.
Ensuring all ordered tests are marked on lab requisition with diagnosis code and billing information.
Following through on physician orders and tracking/educating patients on plan of care/follow-up care plan.
