About The Position
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered, 100% Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support their Outreach patients within Bettendorf. This position supports other clinics within the building, including Family Medicine, Dermatology, and Endocrinology. The role requires travel within a two-hour radius approximately once per month, utilizing a fleet vehicle with paid drive time. Our team specializes in providing care for individuals of all ages, from birth throughout life, building relationships with patients, monitoring their care history, and delivering personalized, compassionate care. When patients require specialized care, providers connect them with the necessary UI Health Care specialists. Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
- Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
- Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.
- Minimum one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN.
Nice To Haves
- The ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations is highly desired.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Previous healthcare support experience, 1-3 years in a healthcare setting in Pediatrics.
- Demonstrated experience fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment.
- Computer skills and ability to navigate the EMR - Epic, Word.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic programs for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel.
- In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
