About The Position

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking caring and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide clinical support within residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Ocean County. This position offers an opportunity to combine nursing expertise with person-centered care while helping individuals maintain their health, well-being, and quality of life. As a member of the Residential Nursing Team, the LPN will work closely with the agency Registered Nurse, residential staff, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure individuals receive quality medical support and coordinated care.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing required and must remain in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license required, with no more than five (5) points.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing services and clinical oversight within residential group home settings.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized healthcare plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, health assessments, medication administration records, and related documentation.
  • Monitor individuals' overall health status and communicate medical concerns, changes in condition, or treatment updates to appropriate team members.
  • Collaborate with residential leadership, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to support ongoing medical needs.
  • Assist individuals during physician visits, hospitalizations, specialty appointments, and admissions to rehabilitation or nursing facilities when required.
  • Support medication administration processes and ensure adherence to agency policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Promote a safe and healthy living environment while advocating for the well-being of individuals receiving services.
  • Participate in health-related training, education, and quality assurance initiatives as needed.
