Under the direction of the Practice Manager and medical provider, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides quality patient care to support optimal clinical outcomes. The LPN maintains patient confidentiality and demonstrates clinical competence through continuing education, departmental competencies, in-service training, and ongoing professional development. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Healing Environment principles by maintaining professionalism, communicating effectively, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Promotes patient dignity, well-being, healthy relationships, and quality service. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Possesses an understanding of growth and development across the lifespan and the ability to assess and interpret patient information to meet age-specific care needs. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Duties may involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
