Licensed Practical Nurse LPN (Psychiatry)
About The Position
NWA Psychiatry is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time position in their expanding practice. The role involves providing direct or indirect nursing care to patients with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems, utilizing basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics, and participating in the organization and management of the physician's practice. The position requires the ability to work in the office Monday - Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to noon, and a current LPN license. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with patients and caring for their mental health needs.
Requirements
- Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Ability to work in office Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm, Friday 8 am - Noon.
- Enjoy interacting with patients and caring for their mental health needs.
- Graduation certificate from accredited LPN school of nursing.
Nice To Haves
- 12 – 18 months related psychiatry experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct or indirect nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems.
- Utilize knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics.
- Participate in the organization and management of the physicians’ practice.
- Assist physician in patient education, revising daily schedules, obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating labs and x-ray reports.
- Assure patient health record is accurate and current.
- Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures; notice patients of test results, schedule follow-up appointments as appropriate.
- Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
