About The Position

Sentara Health is currently hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Rehabilitation Unit. This is a full-time, night shift position on an 8-bed Inpatient Rehab (IPR) unit. The unit specializes in providing patients with additional rehabilitation needs for 2-3 weeks when they are not independent enough to go home but do not require a skilled nursing facility. The team works closely with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The patient population includes stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, and other orthopedic patients requiring further therapy after medical clearance. A physician oversees the unit and personally selects patients who will thrive there, remaining engaged and accessible to the nursing team. The IPR nurses collaborate closely with the 3 west ortho team. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team, offering patient care and supporting higher-level nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.

Requirements

  • LPN certification/diploma
  • VA LPN license in good standing

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced LPN preferred
  • Rehab experience highly desirable
