About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY. This is a contract position for 15 weeks, with the potential for temp-to-hire. The role involves providing patient care in an acute ED and Pediatric ED setting with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting during examinations, performing phlebotomy and IV insertion, taking vital signs, assisting physicians with procedures, performing EKG application, maintaining exam rooms, preparing patient charts, and coordinating referrals and scheduling.
Requirements
- Active New York State LPN License required
- Current CPR/BLS Certification required
- Minimum 1 year LPN experience required
- ED or Pediatric ED experience required
- Phlebotomy and IV insertion experience required
- EKG application experience required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with EMR strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in an acute ED and Pediatric ED setting with minimal supervision
- Greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and assist during examinations
- Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion procedures
- Take and record vital signs and patient progress information
- Assist physicians with procedures and clinical support tasks
- Perform EKG application and related diagnostic support
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and clinical areas
- Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and scheduling as needed
- Observe and report patient responses to treatments and interventions
