Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing.
- Current and valid Virginia State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
- One (1) year of experience in the administration of medication or in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting or long term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.
- Strong understanding of mental health laws, guidelines, and confidentiality regulations such as HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Familiarity with psychiatric and medical terminology.
- Ability to accurately maintain client medical records and prepare comprehensive reports.

Responsibilities
- Assist the staff psychiatrist in administering and monitoring medications.
- Ensure adherence to treatment plans.
- Perform routine physical and mental health assessments.
- Order and dispense medications.
- Provide essential supportive counseling to clients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records and medication inventories.
- Ensure secure handling of medications.
- Conduct medical intakes.
- Schedule examinations.
- Follow up on medical concerns.
