At the Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board, as a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in our Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including licensed therapists, psychologists, and nurse practitioners, you will assist the staff psychiatrist in medication management, conduct health assessments, and provide essential nursing support to our clients. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being of individuals living with mental health challenges, from severe conditions to daily stressors. Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Virginia State Board of Nursing
  • One (1) year of experience in medication administration in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long-term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.
  • Proficiency in conducting health assessments
  • Proficiency in medication management
  • Proficiency in providing supportive counseling
  • Strong communication skills
