About The Position

Quinnipiac University invites applications for a full-time Licensed Plumber Mechanic position on our Mount Carmel campus within our facilities department. As a Licensed Mechanic at Quinnipiac University, you will play a vital role in maintaining the upkeep of our vibrant campus. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.

Requirements

  • A State of Connecticut plumbing, journeyman, or contractor's license P2 and P1 classification is required.
  • Progressive skill development and work in the trade are necessary.
  • Must have a valid CT driver's license.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
  • Must have a working knowledge of tools and procedures used in the trade.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and repair of plumbing fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
  • Install and connect distribution systems such as water, sanitary sewer, and storm drains and systems.
  • Ensure plumbing installations comply with existing State and Local codes.
  • Perform a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment and control systems, pumps, generators, life safety systems (fire, lighting, sprinklers) motorized equipment (gasoline and electric), outdoor lighting and kitchen equipment.
  • May drive trucks and perform related skilled work as required.
  • On call for emergency situations.
  • Remove snow during regularly scheduled shifts but will not be utilized for snow related overtime.
  • Perform highly skilled plumbing tasks and other related work.
  • Work under the direction of a designated supervisor.
