About The Position

The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) is responsible for treating assigned patients. This includes obtaining accurate prescriptions, thoroughly reviewing charts, and documenting treatments according to departmental policy. This is a PRN position with a work shift that may include weekends.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Three (3) internships/affiliations satisfactorily completed
  • Current PTA licensure by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Must obtain and maintain required ortho education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Joint Destination Center of Excellence Policy
  • Must obtain and maintain required stroke education/training as mandated in the Houston Healthcare Primary Stroke Center/Acute Stroke Ready Designation Policy
  • Utilizes a variety of therapy equipment to include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, iontophoresis, TEN's units, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, Biodex, biofeedback, traction, and exercise equipment.
