About The Position

Jefferson Franklin Community Action Corporation (JFCAC) is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP). This program, funded by HUD, aims to help low-income seniors stay in their homes and maintain independence by making necessary home modifications. The Licensed Occupational Therapist will conduct comprehensive home evaluations using the Home for Life Design Assessment tool, catalog information, and develop scopes of work for licensed contractors. A one-month follow-up evaluation will also be conducted to ensure the success of the modifications. The goal is to assess and remedy 200 households over a 36-month period. This is a contracted position with options for a one/other or hybrid contract.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Missouri.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Home for Life Design Assessment tool.
  • Certification as an Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) may be beneficial for oversight responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete aging-in-place assessments utilizing the Home for Life design software.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments after home modifications are completed.
  • Provide possible oversight of in-house Certified Aging-In-Place Specialists (CAPS).
  • Evaluate data gathered by the CAPS.
  • Approve or reject plans developed by the CAPS.
