About The Position

The Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) will be responsible for the overall operations of the skilled nursing facility, Miller Healthcare. In this leadership role, the LNHA will manage, supervise, and coordinate all facility departments to ensure top quality care and successful financial performance. Further responsibilities include strategic planning with an emphasis on integration within a broader healthcare continuum, personnel management, staff development, resident service provision, marketing, and admissions. The Administrator ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years applicable management or comparable experience in a long term care setting required
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nursing Home Administrator in the State of Illinois
  • Bachelors Degree completed, or in process. In process degrees must be completed within 3 years of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Three plus (3+) years experience as a successful LNHA preferred
  • Current CPR certification or obtainment within 6 months of hire with subsequent renewal annually preferred
  • Masters Degree (MBA or related healthcare field) completed, or in process. In process degrees must be completed within 3 years of hire

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the healthcare related programs and services to residents and ensures that all applicable state-mandated rules and regulations are carefully adhered to.
  • Operates Miller Healthcare in a manner which will ensure company profitability by participating in the budget process, then meeting budget and census targets.
  • Actively manages and leads the team at Miller, including recruiting and retention, performance management, scheduling, employee development, employee competency, coaching, and feedback.
  • Manages turnover and ensures adequate staffing through development of recruitment sources, and through appropriate selection, orientation, training, and staff education.
  • Develops and maintains systems that will effectively monitor business operations including, but not limited to, occupancy rate, income and expenses, supply and capital asset inventories, resident and staff satisfaction, and staff meetings/development.
  • Ensures and maintains the all required reporting to State and Federal bodies, i.e. Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) reporting, notification of resident injury, NHSN information, and IDPH vaccination/COVID information, etc.
  • Maintains current knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration. Ensures facility is in compliance.
  • Communicates policies, procedures, regulations, reports etc., to personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
  • Leads the annual IDPH survey, any CMS regulatory survey, and all complaint surveys, and develops plans of correction for cited deficiencies from survey. Develops a positive rapport with all state regulatory representatives.
  • Review accident/incident reports (e.g., falls, injuries, or an unknown source, abuse, etc.), and resident complaints and grievances. Make written reports of action and monitor to determine the effectiveness of the facilitys risk management program.
  • Ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services.
  • Ensure that the residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of all billings, and accounting and bookkeeping requirements, including month-end reports.
  • Oversees contracts for approved services, and directs and evaluates the performance of all service contractors in providing needed services.
  • Implement a quality assurance program that evaluates each departments performance on an on-going basis.
  • Ensure that resident funds maintained by the facility are managed in accordance with current federal and state regulations and that appropriate accounting records are maintained.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to ensure business continuity.
