The LNA plans and implements assigned patient care in collaboration with the nursing staff on the unit. The LNA provides direct patient care for patients of all age groups under a wide variety of circumstances, including patient sitting/care companion and documents patient information. The LNA will also provide support on the assigned unit that may include reception and clerical functions while interacting professionally with staff to facilitate a healing environment for staff, patients, families and visitors. After training the LNA will perform EKG's and phlebotomy procedures as necessary.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of Vermont.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Computer experience required.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Communicates clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Has the ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing demands.
• Has an approachable, friendly demeanor.
• BLS required

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a LNA in a hospital setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy and ECG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages self and resources effectively.
• Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs basic care to patients under the guidance of the nursing staff.
• Demonstrates the unit specific skills requisite for unit/patient population served.
• Performs clerical duties as needed to support staff and patients.
• Provides clerical support to staff, providers and patients as required.
• Completes safety companion training and serves in this capacity as needed while also assisting with restraint application and care as outlined in NMC’s Policy and Protocol, and maintain seizure precautions.
• Responds to codes appropriately and adheres to Infection Control Policy and Protocols.
