About The Position

Valle del Sol is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Nurse (LPN or RN) to support our Opioid Treatment Program. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations of the clinic and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to individuals in recovery.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Arizona.
  • Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and electronic.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent care.
  • Familiarity with Windows and EHR systems.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
  • Ability to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association- AHA)
  • Required vaccinations or documentation: Flu, Hep B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella.
  • Ability to provide culturally sensitive services and work effectively with diverse communities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Maintain compliance with relevant training, licensure, and/or certifications for this role.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of role-specific competencies, validated through the credentialing and privileging process, in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Work at a Valle del Sol office, clinic, or other location as directed.
  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense methadone in accordance with OTP protocols (SAHMSA, DEA, Joint Commission and ADHS standards) as ordered by the Medical Director and/or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Monitor patient health status and document clinical observations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and case managers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication adherence, and wellness strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
  • Uphold culturally sensitive practices in all patient interactions expectations.
  • Maintains clinical areas to ensure quality health standards for both staff and patients by: Keeping a clean and functional environment includes but is not limited to cleaning and disinfecting equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
  • Disinfecting equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.
  • Following manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances.
  • Performing basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
  • Monitoring and documenting medication inventory
  • Ordering medication and office supplies
  • Opens the clinic ready to provide services as scheduled and/or closes the clinic at the end of the day.
  • Communicates with OTP staff regarding client progress or concerns and attends weekly staff meetings.
  • Conducts quality record keeping/documentation to ensure continued licensure of facility.
  • Keeps accurate and timely documentation of dispensing notes and patient’s chart in the EMR
