About The Position
Premium Velocity Auto/Jiffy Lube (PVA) is seeking a Licensed State Motor Vehicle Inspector/Lube Technician to examine customer vehicles to ensure they are fully operational and meet all established requirements by the state DMV. The role involves working safely in various capacities to meet customer needs and ensure their confidence in vehicle safety. The State Motor Vehicle Inspector is responsible for examining vehicles to ensure compliance with emission standards and governmental regulations, maintaining detailed inspection records, communicating inspection results, suggesting improvements for failed vehicles, and advising on additional work needed. Additionally, the role includes performing preventative maintenance such as oil and filter changes, refilling fluid levels, and inspecting/replacing lights, wiper blades, brakes, and tires, all while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid license as a State Vehicle Inspector.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
- Able to stand for an extended period.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb stairs.
- Comfortable working in an enclosed and/or semi-outdoor environment.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities
- Perform multi-point Inspection of automotive vehicles to ensure compliance to emission standards and governmental regulations and maintain detailed records of vehicles inspected.
- Communicate whether vehicle passed or failed the inspection and suggest improvements to vehicle that fails, as well as advise service consultant/technicians of additional work.
- Test vehicle for wear-and-tear damage, check for damaged headlights, leaks, and faulty blinkers. Check for improper adjustments or alignments and for any illegal equipment installed on vehicle.
- Inspect and assess the condition of all the vehicle's essential mechanical systems and components as well as check accessories, air lines and electrical circuits.
- Perform preventative maintenance such as oil and filter change, refill fluid levels, and inspecting and replacing lights, wiper blades, brakes, and tires.
- Inspections should be done in a professional and efficient manner while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
