About The Position

Pacific Blue Psychological Services is hiring licensed therapists in Bakersfield, California, to support its growth. The organization provides mental health treatment to underserved populations in assisted living facilities and skilled nursing homes across California. Its team includes licensed, certified professionals with decades of experience. The therapist provides clinical and counseling services using appropriate interventions and psychotherapy modalities to help clients reach their identified goals. The role includes collaboration with behavioral health specialists and providing individual and group therapy to support clients’ functioning. Services are delivered in the field, not remotely, and require flexibility, creativity, and a client-centered approach. Therapists conduct brief 20-minute sessions and manage their own schedules. The schedule is flexible, typically 2–5 days per week for 6–8 hours per day; part-time and full-time arrangements are available.

Requirements

Hold a license as an LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, or psychologist.
Knowledge of counseling and group therapy theories.
Excellent listening and communication skills.
Experience and knowledge working with trauma, substance use, and homeless populations.

Responsibilities

Conduct initial assessments and complete intake documentation.
Use therapeutic modalities suited to client needs.
Provide individual and group therapy and complete required documentation.
Collaborate with treatment teams, community resources, and referral sources.
Provide crisis intervention and phone support when needed.
Help clients work toward their identified goals and improve or support their capacity for functioning.
