About The Position

Professional Services Group is seeking a Wisconsin state licensed mental health counselor for School-Based Therapist positions in their Washington County School-Based programs. These programs serve children and families facing academic and behavioral challenges within the school environment. The role involves providing interventions directly in schools, including individual and group therapy, education and consultation for school personnel, and family therapy as needed. Professional Services Group and Community Impact Programs is a multi-service organization dedicated to helping individuals and families reach their potential through innovative programming. Ideal candidates will have summers off or reduced summer hours, with part-time summer hours available in addition to the 9-month salary. An interest in serving K-12 students in a school setting is essential. Experience working with schools and an understanding of family systems, as well as the effects and treatment of emotional trauma in children and teens, are preferred.

Requirements

Master's degree
Licensure to provide mental health therapy in the State of Wisconsin (LPC or LCSW)

Responsibilities

Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments.
Create and review client treatment plans.
Provide psychotherapy in accordance with the child's treatment plans.
Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities.
Provide consultation to the child's school and school personnel as needed.
Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients.
