About The Position
This position is part of Mental Health Crisis Care, which provides care across various Emergency Department settings in person and via Telehealth. The role is a 1.0 FTE position, primarily on-site at MHealth Fairview Southdale with focus on collaborative work within the emergency department at Fairview Southdale and the EmPATH Program. The clinician will engage in crisis assessments, therapeutic interventions, group therapy, while also developing and directing patient care and disposition plans. Building strong relationships with psychiatry, medical providers, and interdisciplinary teams is essential. Since 2002, the team has been dedicated to supporting youth and adults during crises, improving community health through innovation and partnerships.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree, from an accredited school, in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related discipline
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed in the State of Minnesota in one of the following: Licensed Psychologist (Doctoral or Master's), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (Doctoral or Master’s), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (Doctoral or Master's)
- Good working knowledge of electronic health records
- Comfort level and willingness to utilize computer-based platforms for assessments
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to quickly switch from one task to another
Nice To Haves
- Three or more years of experience in crisis counseling or clinical therapy
- Prior experience in hospital or emergency department settings
- 2 years working within an Interdisciplinary team in mental health care

- Conduct Crisis and Diagnostic assessments

- Completing and updating interdisciplinary tools weekly
- Coordinating care
- Providing crisis support
- Conducting behavioral assessments
- Determining appropriate levels of care and discharge plans
- Interface with government agencies
- Complete referrals
- Communicate with community providers
- Ensuring continuity of care through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Providing individual, couples, and family therapy
- Providing psycho-education groups
- Engage in evidence-based practice through policy development, literature reviews, and participation in research and learning activities
