About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Licensed Mental Health Evaluator to join their Inpatient Behavioral Health Service Line at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Part Time opportunity. The role involves working in an inpatient hospital setting within the Behavioral Health unit, playing a critical role in assessing patients' psychological and emotional well-being, particularly during acute episodes of mental illness. The team is located at the Baptist Jacksonville campus and is responsible for evaluating behavioral health patients arriving at all 10 Baptist EDs in the system. As a Mental Health Evaluator, you will be consulted by ED physicians to assess adult and pediatric patients and collaborate with the psychiatry provider to determine disposition (admission or discharge), then facilitate the outcome. Daily workflow includes using Epic, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Teledoc. BLS is required at onboarding. CPI, EMTALA, and Baker Act training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. Other annual competencies are required and provided internally. You must also work with the credentialing department and Medical Staff Office to obtain hospital privileges to become a billing provider before seeing patients.

Requirements

  • Masters of Science (MS)
  • Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker Required OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Required OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor Required
  • Driver's License (DMV)
  • Florida LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT required
  • Experience working in an inpatient hospital setting in a Behavioral Health unit.
  • Experience assessing patients' psychological and emotional well-being, particularly during acute episodes of mental illness.
  • Experience using Epic, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Teledoc.

  • Experience with telehealth assessments.
  • Experience with maternal mental health consults.
  • Experience with pediatric trauma screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate behavioral health patients arriving at all 10 Baptist EDs in the system.
  • Assess adult and pediatric patients in the ED, in person or via telehealth.
  • Collaborate with the psychiatry provider to determine patient disposition (admission or discharge).
  • Facilitate the determined patient disposition.
  • Complete psychosocial and suicide assessments of patients in the ED.
  • Complete maternal mental health consults and pediatric trauma screenings on weekends when necessary.
  • Work with the credentialing department and Medical Staff Office to obtain hospital privileges to become a billing provider.
