About The Position
Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for The Family Counseling Center in Gloversville, New York. This is a full-time, outpatient behavioral health position with a hybrid schedule. The role involves providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults aged 5 and older, utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches for individual, family, and group therapy. Responsibilities include completing behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, documentation, ongoing care coordination, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position also requires responding to crisis situations and accurately documenting patient care in the organization's electronic health record.
Requirements
- Active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York.
- Ability to provide individual, family, and group counseling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Experience documenting within an electronic health record.
- Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral health crises.
- Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered behavioral health care.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient behavioral health counseling for children, adolescents, and adults ages 5 and older.
- Deliver individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Complete behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and ongoing care coordination.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, case managers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations while maintaining high standards of clinical care.
- Utilize the organization's electronic health record to document patient care accurately.
