About The Position

Provide direct services to FLACRA’s clients via individual, family and group counseling to both Adult and Children (focused on ages 5-17) demographics as needed/required. This role involves providing direct diagnostic evaluative services, assessing client diagnoses and need for further counseling, and delivering therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family, and/or group therapy. The clinician will handle intake and service load with independent judgment, maintain records in compliance with regulations, participate in community presentations and training, and provide training to new staff and interns. The position also offers the potential for in-community services.

Requirements

  • Masters level education in the appropriate field with licensure or ability to immediately gain provisional status.
  • Training and expertise in provision of both adult and children mental health treatment.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers.
  • Knowledge of local behavioral health service system.
  • Expertise in children’s mental health treatment.
  • Comfort with tele-technologies.
  • Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving & time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis.
  • E-Record proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed as a LMHC, LMSW, LCAT or LCSW preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct diagnostic evaluative services to clients.
  • Assess client's primary and secondary diagnosis and need for further counseling.
  • Supply identified clients direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family and/or group therapy.
  • Handle intake and service load with independent judgment using self-initiated consultation in technical problems of diagnostic evaluation in treatment techniques.
  • Maintain records in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Participate in community presentations and training programs as needed and directed.
  • Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings.
  • Provide training as needed to new staff and interns.
  • Ability to provide potential in-community services.
  • Perform other functions as directed.
